Arm lift (Brachioplasty) is a procedure designed to remove excess skin and tissue from the upper arm. Sagging of the upper arm can be a result of a lost elasticity due to aging alone or, considerable weight loss. Because it is primarily composed of skin, no amount of exercise will 'tighten the arms' or make them look smaller. Arm lift surgery is the only method of reshaping the upper arm in these more severe cases.
If there is a good skin tension and moderate fat excess a liposuction alone can be beneficial. However, the result is more limited as this technique addresses only the excess fat and not the skin.
